Dad had told Mom in the morning that he would bring a big fish home to dinner.
In the evening we had a guest. He was Dad’s business partner, Mr Addoquaye. When we were seated at the table all about to enjoy the banku and chicken, my five-year old little brother blurted out:
“Why, Mommy, THIS IS CHICKEN !”
“What of it, Kobby?”
“Dad said this morning that he was going
to bring a BIG FISH home to dinner tonight.”
Ah! How we laughed!
